Digital inclusion event
For most people going online to make purchases, pay bills or to keep in touch with friends and family is almost second nature, however, this is not the case for everyone though.
Did you know that 23% of adults in Ashford lack all five basic digital skills they need to fully engage and reap the benefits of the digital world?
Ashford Borough Council has partnered with Barclays Bank, Ashford Gateway and the One You Shop to host a digital inclusion event aimed to equip those who lack basic digital skills and confidence required to get online.
The event take place on:
Wednesday 13 November at Ashford Gateway, Church Road, Ashford, TN23 1AS
10:00 – 12:00 – Basic digital skills workshop supported by ABC’s digital champions
13:00 – 14:00 – How to stay safe and keep personal data safe online workshop hosted by Barclays Bank
Who should attend?
The event is aimed at anyone who needs help overcoming their digital barriers. Do you, or someone you know, want to learn how to:
• use an IPad, Skype or smartphone?
• get online using basic online skills?
• stay safe online?
• access online public services including the council or NHS website?
What should you bring?
Computers and laptops will be provided. However, you can also come along with a smartphone, tablet or laptop and take part in interactive sessions with the help of our digital champions.
Free Wi-Fi is available at the Gateway and coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided on the day.
